Projects

Principal Purpose can operate as part of your planning and development project team to assess, optimise and report on the sustainability credentials of individual projects.

We consider such areas as land use and design, transportation, energy, impact of buildings, impact of infrastructure, natural resources, ecology, and community and safety. Our aim is not to replace existing experts, but to support them and the wider team in assessing and optimising the benefits of sustainability for a particular project.

SnOasis, Suffolk

The proposed £350 million development will create a new 21st Century winter sports complex including a 400m real snow ski-slope, fun bobsleigh run, ice skating rink and other facilities.

Principal Purpose is providing a range of ongoing sustainability services to the proposed fifth Center Parcs Forest Holiday Village near Ampthill in Bedfordshire which has recently received planning consent, subject to conditions.

Barnsley Markets (1249 Regeneration Partnership)

The £180 million development is the first major scheme in Yorkshire Forward’s Urban Renaissance Programme, and will provide 76,600 sq. m. retail and leisure space in an ‘outdoor’ market area beneath a glazed roof and an ‘indoor’ market, including cinema, amphitheatre for outdoor events and 100 apartments.

Principal Purpose provided integrated sustainability services and solutions to Oak Holdings plc in relation to the proposed £350 million YES! Project, a next generation leisure, entertainment, sports and convention project on a former coalfield site in Rotherham.

Ironstone, Lawley, Telford

Lawley is the largest housing development of its type in England and will provide some 3,300 homes together with offices, restaurants, bars, a primary school, parkland and shops.

West Herts College Redevelopment

Principal Purpose worked closely with the client and project team to optimise and report on the sustainability provisions of the redevelopment of the Hempstead Road Campus of West Herts College, which subsequently received planning consent.

Honda Showroom, Romford, Essex

Principal Purpose was commissioned by Honda Europe to work closely with the project team and prepare a Sustainability Statement, summarising the various measures and commitments inherent in the scheme, as required by the London Borough of Havering. Planning consent was subsequently granted in August 2007.

Principal Purpose was appointed by Barratt Homes to provide sustainability support in a response to Herefordshire Council’s Development Brief for land at the former Whitecross High School site in Hereford.

Principal Purpose was commissioned by JSA Architects, on behalf of development project managers ACM Ltd., to develop a renewable energy solution which satisfies Woking Borough Council’s requirements for new development to generate at least 10% of energy demand from on-site renewables.

Principal Purpose was commissioned by Tribal MJP, on behalf of Greatline Developments, to prepare the Sustainability Statement for the proposed Nosely Eco Retreat development comprising 85 holiday lodges and associated amenity and leisure facilities within the grounds of Noseley Manor, Leicestershire.
