Principal Purpose provides high quality sustainability assessment, advice and solution services that are tailored to particular client and stakeholder needs and delivered in a timely and professional manner.

Coming from an established background in environmental consultancy, we are experienced in dealing with the full range of development clients and opportunities including residential, mixed use, commercial, industrial, healthcare, education and sporting and leisure. We pride ourselves on integrating the social, economic and environmental angles of sustainability: understanding the commercial needs of our clients as well as the environmental imperatives of legislation.

We relish early involvement on a development proposal in order that the principles of sustainable development can be embedded in the project philosophy and team thinking. We like to think of ourselves as partly responsible for ‘oiling the wheels’ of a project by introducing ideas and requirements at an early stage, and partly as the ‘grit in the oyster’ since asking difficult questions at the outset can avoid problems and delays later in the programme, when changes can be difficult and costly to accommodate.

We complement existing experts, embedding sustainability within the team approach and drawing the threads together to give a sustainability overview of the project.
